Each class has elected a pupil to represent them on our Pupil Council this year. We meet every fortnight to listen to one another, share ideas and work together to make positive changes across our school.
Our aims this year are:
To listen to everyone’s ideas and make sure pupils’ views are shared with the school.
To make our school a happy, healthy and safe place where everyone feels valued.
To make sure everyone feels included and that every pupil has a voice.
To care for our school environment and work together to find ways to improve it.
To develop our leadership skills by speaking up, taking responsibility and helping others.
To celebrate our achievements and take pride in our school and our community.
Last year, we worked collaboratively with another school to share ideas and explore ways to improve our playground. This was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to have their voices heard, work together and contribute ideas that could make a positive difference to their school environment. We will continue this collaboration and build on these ideas throughout this year.
We also had the opportunity to welcome a local councillor into school and learn more about her role and how she supports the wider community. This helped pupils develop their understanding of the community around them and the different ways people can make a positive contribution.
Listening to pupil voice continues to be an important part of our school. We value pupils’ ideas, opinions and suggestions and use their feedback to help us make positive changes and improvements across our school.
We are looking forward to working together this year, making a difference and helping to make Buchanhaven School an even better place for everyone!
